UPI ID, also called a Virtual Payment Address or VPA, is an ID you have to create to send and accept money through UPI. Once you create your UPI address, you have to map it to your existing bank account. That done, you can just share your UPI ID or VPA with anyone, to receive money from them. Your UPI ID or VPA will have a format as follows: abc@tatapay.
